The Story of Willis Knighton Cardiology

Background

Willis Knighton Cardiology traces its roots to Cardiovascular Consultants, LLP, which was formed in the early 1980s. Cardiovascular Consultants, LLP, was the result of the merger of four cardiovascular practices and the successful recruitment of several other cardiologists over the last two decades. The practice is now comprised of eleven full-time cardiologists plus a skilled staff of nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, registered and practical nurses, and administrative and support personnel. On December 1, 2016, the practice joined nearly 500 other physicians as members of the Willis-Knighton Physicians Network.

The physicians of Willis Knighton Cardiology provide full-time service to the Heart and Vascular Program of Willis Knighton North in Shreveport, Willis Knighton Pierremont in southwest Shreveport, Willis Knighton Bossier in Bossier City, Willis Knighton Pierremont in southeast Shreveport, Minden Medical Center in Minden, Louisiana, Homer and Vivian.

The deep ties of the practice to Willis Knighton Health – the largest community hospital in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi – bode well for the future. At the Heart and Vascular Center location, WKC offices are located in the same building as the emergency room and cardiac catheterization labs, providing timely, critical access to cardiac care. Our full-time offices provide a complete comprehensive approach to cardiology consultation and non-invasive testing including nuclear imaging, echocardiography, carotid and peripheral vascular studies, transtelephonic pacemaker checks, Holter monitor, and other diagnostic procedures.
